See why Ahliana can't live without Pluralsight
I LOVE my Pluralsight. It has saved and improved my career multiple times. Because of Pluralsight, Iâve landed two jobs that have both advanced my career significantly.
About four years ago, I was in a contracted job that was coming to an end. I needed to have new and improved skills to get new contracts, so I began learning skills on Pluralsight. After only taking a few Pluralsight courses, I was able to pass the technical interviews for a new contract job.
The next company I interviewed with told me they were using MVC. I didn't know anything about it, so I figured I would never get a second call from them. I was curious about MVC though, so I watched the Pluralsight MVC course. The company ended up calling back in for the second interview, and although I had never used MVC, I could talk intelligently about it. I got the job! I even used Pluralsight courses to learn things I was going to be using during my first day on the job, such as jQuery, IIS, PowerShell, etc. Pluralsight kept me one step ahead.
How has Pluralsight helped you get where you are today?
I donât have a college degree, but Iâve found that not having a degree doesnât hinder me as long as I have in-demand skills. Iâve acquired many of those skills through Pluralsight, and my ability to get new positions and salary have increased as a result.
How would you sum up the value of Pluralsight to you?
Ultimately, Pluralsight has really increased my ability to take care of my family, so naturally, Iâm a HUGE proponent.
What are your favorite Pluralsight features?
I love the mobile app. I like to watch the courses on my phone while Iâm on the go. Also, I use the offline access all the time. I love being able to download videos to my tablet so I can study at the park while I wait for my daughterâs practice to finish. This helps me be the best mom I can be, and I canât tell you how much that means to me.
Having the ability to listen to the course at variable speeds is also helpful. I sometimes re-listen to the courses in car to refresh myself on the courses.
